CBC and "pregnant people" with measles
In a report on how people should trust the science on the measles vaccines, CBC abandons the science around biology.
Trust the science we are told on vaccines, just don’t trust the science on something simpler – like biology. CBC ran a piece on “The National,” as they call their increasingly irrelevant newscast, that spoke about “pregnant people,” not women.
Here’s a pro-tip, when trying to convince people that they should be vaccinated against measles because “the science” says it is safe, maybe also embrace “the science” that says only women can get pregnant.
This biological reality may be uncomfortable for some in today’s gender-bending zeitgeist, but it is still true. No man has ever been pregnant; no man will ever be pregnant – not naturally - and to claim otherwise is lunacy.
Yet, it wasn’t just CBC pushing this, they cited the Canadian Medical Association Journal, a supposedly “peer-reviewed” medical journal that has also abandoned basic science.
“Pregnant people with measles are at higher risk of pneumonia, hepatitis, and hospitalization and have a 10-fold higher risk of death than those who are not pregnant,” the CMAJ says in a recent post.
Who are these people who become pregnant? They are people with wombs, people that we call women, but in the name of political correctness, in the name of being woke, the CMAJ and CBC, use the phrase pregnant people.
I’ve been speaking about this and writing about the issue for years such as this column from June 2023 on the attempt to erase women from our language. Later that same year I reacted to an Alberta legislator referring to women as “people with uteruses.”
I don’t know a single woman who wants to be referred to as a person with a uterus, a person who menstruates – a favourite of the Trudeau government – or as a pregnant people if they are blessed to carry a child.
Being a woman is a wonderful, exciting, beautiful part of humanity that should be celebrated, not reduced to certain bodily functions.
We deserve better from CBC and the CMAJ.
Public health has figured out they have screwed up life long immunity from measles with vaccination. Before when kids got measles they were protected for life, vaccine immunity wears off, solution, more boosters. Also mothers with vaccine immunity don’t pass immunity to their babies through breast milk the way mothers with natural immunity do because as stated the immunity wears off, solution, boost during pregnancy. But they don’t do studies to know things safe, they just theorize this is the way to go. Just like COVID it’s one big experiment. The measles shot was good to mimic natural infection without the inconvenience of a rash and be a one and done shot when it was introduced. They missed the target on all of it, again like Covid.
Exactly!
